Why the Byron Sofa Bed?
Ultimate comfort. Day and night.
Sit to sleep in seconds
Most sofa beds turn bedtime into a workout: heave the seats off, drag out a metal frame, fight a thin mattress into place. Byron's FlipBed design does away with all of it. A deep, loungeable sofa one moment, a genuine queen bed the next, with no tools and no drama.
Comfy by day, restful by night.
The classic sofa bed trade-off is a couch that sits like a bench and a bed that sleeps like the floor. Byron's deep, contoured seats are made for curling up or stretching out, while a Kloudcell™ sleep surface adds bed-like, pressure-relieving support. Zero Disturbance motion isolation means one of you can turn over without waking the other.
Spill it. Wash it. Repeat.
Spills, sticky fingers and muddy paws are a matter of when, not if. Byron's covers are water-resistant, fully removable and machine-washable, so spills wipe away and a proper clean is a zip and a wash cycle away. Choose from eight Koala-exclusive colors across Classic weaves and Luxe boucle.
Built to be the last sofa bed you buy
This is the third-generation Byron, now with fully washable covers and bigger hidden storage. It is backed by a 5-year warranty and a 120-night trial, so a piece you will sit, sleep and host on for years is a decision you can make with zero risk. Prefer to spread the cost? Flexible financing is available at checkout.
This is exactly what we were looking for. Great quality. Easy to assemble. Super comfortable!

Excellent warranty experience and great sofa
I had some issues with my 2nd Gen Koala Sofa Bed, and the customer service team replaced it with the new 3rd Gen under warranty. The whole process was really smooth. I felt heard, they were very understanding, picked up the old sofa, and delivered the new one right on time.
I’m really happy with the new sofa. My only complaint is that I chose the washable covers, which made assembly a bit harder. If I had to choose again, I’d probably go with the non-washable covers just for easier setup.
Overall, really happy with both the sofa and the customer service.

Great Couch | Terrible Shipping Experience
The couch is great! Took two people about an hour to assemble. The instructions were a bit "too simple" and did leave is scratching our heads a few times, but we eventually got it. It's super comfy (medium-firm) and easy to make into a bed. The main reason for 3 stars instead of 5 is that the company who delivered the couch was AWFUL. When I saw "ships is 2-3 days" on Koala's website, I thought that would mean it arrived to my house relatively quickly. Yeah. That's funny. It sat in a warehouse in Spokane for almost a MONTH before we got it. We never got updates from the carrier unless I called myself and asked. Had I know it was going to sit and sit, I would have not bought it at all. I wish the delivery company was more communicative. I would have driven to Spokane and picked it up myself. We had been waiting and waiting on this couch to complete one of our rentals. We couldn't go live without it. So it was super frustrating that we had everything done, except that one piece. All that to say, it's assembled and in the unit now and I hope our guests like it.

Frequently asked questions
What is the weight capacity of the Byron Sofa Bed?
Our sofa bed is designed to comfortably accommodate a wide range of body types, testing our products to comfortably support up to 280 lbs per seat under domestic normal use conditions.
Whether you're lounging or sleeping, you can trust it to provide comfort and safety.
Are the Byron Sofa Bed covers removable?
We have designed the Byron Sofa Bed with ease of care in mind. All the covers are removable. Each cover has detailed care instructions. Please follow and read instructions that are located on your covers.
Please note, all Byron Sofa Beds purchased before September 16, 2025 do not have removable covers please reach out to our helpful customer support team if you require more information on this!
Can I buy replacement covers for my Byron Sofa Bed?
For models purchased after September 16 2025, you can purchase replacement cover sets
If you purchased your Byron Sofa Bed before the above date, unfortunately this version was not made with removable covers and new cover sets will not be compatible with your sofa bed.
If you're unsure which version you have, please reach out to our friendly customer service team!
Can I use my Byron Sofa Bed to sleep on every night?
Our Byron Sofa Bed is designed with layered seat cushion construction to provide the best seating and sleeping comfort. However, we do not recommend it for nightly use.
Will my Byron Sofa Bed seating/sleeping comfort change over time?
It's normal for the seating and foam of your new sofa to soften during the first few months of regular use. This is not a fault, but rather a natural part of the breaking-in process, similar to breaking in a new pair of shoes.
If you have a favorite spot where you sit or curl up often, that area might soften more than others, becoming your personalized cozy corner.
As the foam settles and your sofa gets used to regular lounging and sitting, it's also normal for the fabric to develop some creases or wrinkles. This is part of the sofa's natural evolution and can be easily managed to keep it looking its best.
I have just opened my Byron Sofa Bed seat cushion and it is out of shape/thin/wrinkled
Our seat cushions are designed for ease of transport and packaging. When your seat cushion arrives, it will be compressed for convenience.
You can use your sofa bed right away if you need to, but for the best experience, we recommend allowing the seat cushion to expand and settle for at least 72 hours. This gives the seat cushion time to fully recover and reach its optimal shape. After this period, you'll enjoy the most comfortable sit or sleep!
How do I clean the topper? Is it machine washable?
Before washing, unzip and remove the zip-off topper; machine wash in cold water only, spot clean with a mix of warm water and mild detergent as needed, line dry in the shade, and avoid bleach, soaking, rubbing, wringing, tumble drying, ironing, or dry cleaning. After washing, gently reshape the cover and allow it to dry thoroughly before reuse.
For more information always follow the care instructions located on your sofa bed.
