Care
Vacuum weekly using low suction to remove dust and dirt, and keep your sofa bed out of direct sunlight. Clean spills immediately by blotting with a clean cloth or paper towel. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.

Lining Covers
Lining covers have zippers but are not removable. Spot clean only.

  • Use warm water and mild detergent.
  • Blot spills, don't scrub with a stiff brush.
  • Avoid soaking the filling.
  • Air dry completely before use.
  • Do not bleach, iron, or dry clean.

Removable covers & sleep surface
Spot clean as needed. For a deeper clean, remove the outer covers and follow the care labels. All covers are machine washable.

  • Check care labels before washing.
  • Blot stains, don't scrub.
  • Reshape covers while damp.
  • Line dry in the shade until completely dry before refitting.
  • Do not iron or tumble dry.

Pilling is a normal result of everyday use and is not considered a fault. If recommended on the care label, use a battery-operated fabric shaver to remove pills.

Warning: Keep away from all heat sources, including cigarettes, stoves, fires, and open flames.

      Great Couch | Terrible Shipping Experience

      The couch is great! Took two people about an hour to assemble. The instructions were a bit "too simple" and did leave is scratching our heads a few times, but we eventually got it. It's super comfy (medium-firm) and easy to make into a bed. The main reason for 3 stars instead of 5 is that the company who delivered the couch was AWFUL. When I saw "ships is 2-3 days" on Koala's website, I thought that would mean it arrived to my house relatively quickly. Yeah. That's funny. It sat in a warehouse in Spokane for almost a MONTH before we got it. We never got updates from the carrier unless I called myself and asked. Had I know it was going to sit and sit, I would have not bought it at all. I wish the delivery company was more communicative. I would have driven to Spokane and picked it up myself. We had been waiting and waiting on this couch to complete one of our rentals. We couldn't go live without it. So it was super frustrating that we had everything done, except that one piece. All that to say, it's assembled and in the unit now and I hope our guests like it.

      Good Sofa and Works great as a bed

      We really like our Koala Sofa bed. I like the bed version for comfort and the sofa part is good as well. It does take some time to put together. Works best if you have two people to put it together. We couldn’t the instructions adequate for assembly.

      3rd Gen - Sand Bank (Luxe)

      I researched this sofa bed for several months before purchasing. We have been very satisfied and happy! It is very comfortable, deep seats, and was not too complicated to build. We watched the video tutorial step by step (easier than reading the instructions) and with 2 people it took less an hour. We are both tall people and fit comfortably. It also looks very nice and well made! Highly recommend this sofa bed!!

    Our sofa bed is designed to comfortably accommodate a wide range of body types, testing our products to comfortably support up to 280 lbs per seat under domestic normal use conditions.

    Are the Byron Sofa Bed covers removable?

    We have designed the Byron Sofa Bed with ease of care in mind. All the covers are removable. Each cover has detailed care instructions. Please follow and read instructions that are located on your covers.

    Please note, all Byron Sofa Beds purchased before September 16, 2025 do not have removable covers please reach out to our helpful customer support team if you require more information on this!

    Can I buy replacement covers for my Byron Sofa Bed?

    For models purchased after September 16 2025, you can purchase replacement cover sets

    If you purchased your Byron Sofa Bed before the above date, unfortunately this version was not made with removable covers and new cover sets will not be compatible with your sofa bed.

    Can I use my Byron Sofa Bed to sleep on every night?

    Our Byron Sofa Bed is designed with layered seat cushion construction to provide the best seating and sleeping comfort. However, we do not recommend it for nightly use.

    Will my Byron Sofa Bed seating/sleeping comfort change over time?

    It's normal for the seating and foam of your new sofa to soften during the first few months of regular use. This is not a fault, but rather a natural part of the breaking-in process, similar to breaking in a new pair of shoes.

    If you have a favorite spot where you sit or curl up often, that area might soften more than others, becoming your personalized cozy corner.

    As the foam settles and your sofa gets used to regular lounging and sitting, it's also normal for the fabric to develop some creases or wrinkles. This is part of the sofa's natural evolution and can be easily managed to keep it looking its best.

    I have just opened my Byron Sofa Bed seat cushion and it is out of shape/thin/wrinkled

    Our seat cushions are designed for ease of transport and packaging. When your seat cushion arrives, it will be compressed for convenience.

    You can use your sofa bed right away if you need to, but for the best experience, we recommend allowing the seat cushion to expand and settle for at least 72 hours. This gives the seat cushion time to fully recover and reach its optimal shape. After this period, you'll enjoy the most comfortable sit or sleep!

    How do I clean the topper? Is it machine washable?

    Before washing, unzip and remove the zip-off topper; machine wash in cold water only, spot clean with a mix of warm water and mild detergent as needed, line dry in the shade, and avoid bleach, soaking, rubbing, wringing, tumble drying, ironing, or dry cleaning. After washing, gently reshape the cover and allow it to dry thoroughly before reuse.
