Byron Sofa Bed [2nd Gen]

I LOVE this couch. I had a laundry list of requirements: it had to feel lux, it had to fit in a very small apartment, it had to be white/ivory buy easy to clean, it had to be kid- and cat-friendly, it needed to double as my bed, and it needed to be easy for me to open and close every night and day. I searched for weeks and finally took a chance on the Byron in ivory. It has exceeded all of my expectations! It's a truly beautiful couch that looks like it costs three times as much as it does. My cat's nails do occasionally pull the fabric, but a fabric shaver cleaned it right up, and now that he's used to it, he doesn't catch his nails as much. It's SUPER easy to open and close and it's COMFORTABLE. The hidden shelves are genius - I keep my pillow and blanket there and no one would ever know it's also a bed. Everyone who has seen it has asked me where I found such a gem. Buy this couch!

So, this is a beautiful couch and I love the way it looks. This is the exact color I was looking for, so I sprung for it since this is a hard color to find. Not too pink, not too brown. Sort of the perfect mauve. It's pretty comfortable to sit on, and easy to pull out when necessary. I have a few complaints - first for the money I did not expect this couch to come in 5-6 boxes and be basically an assemble it yourself situation. That really threw me off. I guess I missed that in all my review reading. My older daughter helped me put it together, it took us a little under an hour but I had massive cardboard boxes to then try and deal with disposal of. I just think for the price, I would have expected it to be fully assembled. 2nd issue is I didn't realize the depth (yes I should have measured) but the seat depth could be deeper. I had a deeper couch prior and didn't realize this was more narrow. Maybe offer two seat depth options? So it's a little less comfortable for us to lounge on than our old couch unfortunately. 3rd is the back pillows are incredibly thin. Really not comfortable at all, so plan to purchase some large 24x24 throw pillows to help alleviate that. 4th issue and one I knew may be a concern prior to purchasing, is when you pull it out the bed is on the ground essentially. So not easy to get in and out of for older guests, but perfect for kids or teens/20's. Good for movie nights for kids. And the bed is extremely comfortable. Otherwise, it's fairly comfortable…

We purchase this sofa / bed for our guest bedroom, even though the room has a king size bed, this made an additional sleeping space for the grandkids. We used it last weekend and it worked perfectly for the setup. I love that my guests also have a sitting area in the room. The quality is great and the assembly was easy to follow (although we didn’t find the paper instructions until we finished everything but unrolling the mattress). We followed the YouTube video for assembly. (Might want to consider putting the instructions just in the box for easy location, there was not room to unroll mattress until after assembly in the room). Love this nice piece of addition to our guest room!!!!

The sofa feels well made but the fabric is different than I expected and has more of a speckled white and brown appearance versus a smooth brown and is not particularly soft. The futon is nice and sturdy when rolled out but easily detaches from the velcro hold when it's in sofa mode, so the seat pillow feel like they are sliding forward. It's great as a sofa bed but not so great as a sofa.
